How I Wore my Wig on a Roller Coaster With ZERO Glue or Tape

Featuring, the Wig Fix by Renatural

Honestly, roller coasters inspire fear in me. They’re way too fast and the ones in carnivals are just rickety and creaky enough for you to think they are on the brink of total collapse at any moment.

When I faced a roller coaster at an Oktoberfest carnival, I should have been even more scared. I was wearing my blonde wig that day and any sane person would have just walked straight towards the exit for fear that it would go flying off on the ride. I’ve seen those IG videos with a raccoon that pulls a wig off someone’s head, or a slight wind that has someone chasing after their hair piece – I know it happens!

But I wasn’t worried, because I had a secret weapon. I had the Wig Fix.

I rode that roller coaster through the end and the wig didn’t even budge. In fact, I didn’t adjust it at all that day because it stayed put as if it was glued onto my head!

The Wig Fix is a 100% hypoallergenic silicone wig grip that stretches and fits around 98% of the adult population.

It is proven to be safe for skin, is easily cleaned, and lasts for over two years with continuous use. Patent-pending, the Wig Fix makes wearing wigs easier, more secure, and more comfortable.

The Wig Fix is the brainchild of Aasiyah Abdulsalam, a recent London School of Economics graduate who has big dreams of transforming the hair industry. She’s black British, first-generation Nigerian, and based currently in London.

The idea for the Wig Fix first came to her when she had traction alopecia from age ten due to chemical relaxer burns and scalp psoriasis.

It prompted her to question why there were such harsh chemicals in hair products for wigs but also, why the wig industry was so outdated compared to the rest of the hair industry.

In London, there were, and still are, few resources for women who wear wigs. Wig shops and salons are far and few between, according to Aasiyah.

“I was ten years old and local salons would tell me, ‘we don’t know how to do your hair.’”

As a result, Aasiyah learned how to do her own hair by watching Youtube videos. She became an expert and soon, others asked if she could do their hair as well. “More and more people kept coming. I started doing my mom’s hair and my mom’s friends’ hair. I loved doing it.”

She took this passion for hair through school and completed her dissertation on the hair industry. Her research confirmed her original hunches on the issues around harsh chemicals and outdated wig-making techniques but also informed her of how the hair industry worked.

“There are innovations within most other industries in fashion – they ship quarter-sizes for shoes now for people – and yet the hair industry is so far behind. I love seeing innovations in beauty, but you don’t see it in the wig industry and I think it perpetuates the stigma that there’s only one type of person that wears a wig.”

“But in fact, there are people that surf, there are surgeons, and there are people who go hiking that want to wear hair too. I want to bring a lot of innovation in this industry. All of the products that the Renatural develops will be patented innovations that help forward the wig world.”

Aasiyah’s first product, the Wig Fix, is certainly game-changing. After just five months of product development and sleepless nights, Aasiyah sold her first Wig Fix in May this year.

She has amassed over 10K followers on IG since her launch and ships the product to fans across the world. While this is just the beginning for Aasiyah, her success reflects how hungry customers are for innovation and change in the wig industry. As the Wig Fix is growing, we can only expect to see even more exciting launches from the Renatural coming soon!

Should people who wear toppers use this too, or are the clippers inside the toppers enough?

Hi Marcelle! This is only for wigs, the clips on toppers is definitely enough to secure it on your head! I just use the clips for all of my toppers! ❤️
